Navigating the canvas
Pan, zoom and rotate your view of the canvas. None of it changes the art - only how you look at it.
What it is
Nekudot puts a camera over the canvas. You can slide it around, zoom in for detail, and (on touch) spin it to a comfortable angle - handy for drawing on a phone or tablet. The artwork itself is untouched, and Reset view always brings you back. The canvas also auto-fits on load and whenever the window shrinks, so a canvas bigger than the window never leaves your work stranded off-screen.
On a computer
- Zoom
- ⌘/Ctrl + scroll wheel - zooms toward the pointer.
- Pan
- Scroll (or a two-finger trackpad swipe) to slide the view, or drag with the middle mouse button.
- Reset view
- The frame button in the toolbar - back to 100%, no rotation, centred or fit.
On a touch screen
- One finger
- Draws, as usual.
- Two-finger drag
- Pan, pinch to zoom, and twist to rotate - all at once, around the point between your fingers.
- Two-finger tap
- Undo (a tap, not a drag); three-finger tap is Redo.
Tap vs drag. A quick two-finger tap undoes; the moment
your fingers move it becomes a pan / zoom / rotate instead, so the two
never collide.
Try this
Zoom in close to clean up a detail, then hit Reset view
to snap back to the whole piece. Lost in a big canvas? Reset view
re-centres it.
