License & credits
Free to use.
Free to make your own.
Nekudot is free software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 2.
In plain terms, the GPL guarantees you four freedoms: to use Nekudot for anything, to study how it works, to share copies with whomever you like, and to change it and pass your version on - as long as you keep those same freedoms intact for the next person. No fee, no gatekeeping, no fine print.
The full, authoritative terms live with the code. Read the source on GitHub, or the canonical GPL v2 text.
The license covers the software, not what you draw with it. Whatever you make in Nekudot is entirely yours - it never leaves your browser, and no one has any claim on it.
Standing on shoulders
Nekudot exists because other people shared their work first. With gratitude:
- Harmony, by mrdoob — the connecting-line sketch tool that lit the spark.
- d3-quadtree — finds each point's neighbours fast enough to weave in real time.
- fflate & zod — pack and validate the .nekudot archive you save your work into.
- Vite & TypeScript — the workbench it's built and bundled on.
- Fraunces & Hanken Grotesk — the open-licensed typefaces this site is set in.
Nekudot is offered in the hope that it's useful, but without any warranty - see the license for the details.
